INTRODUCTION

The play opens as the breakdown of the marriage between Princess Margaret and Antony Armstrong Jones is in full swing. The year is 1970.

SETTING

Various rooms within Kensington Palace, the home of Margaret and Tony. Plus one scene at Clarence House (the home of the Queen Mother) and a small scene in a beach house on the Caribbean Island of Mustique.

STORYLINE

This one-act drama depicts the last years of the marriage between Margaret and Lord Snowdon, their relationship with the Queen Mother and the faithful royal servant Ruby who had looked after Margaret since her birth. Based on true events, the action opens in 1970 and concludes in 1981 on the occasion of the wedding of Charles and Diana.

The action opens in 1970, concludes in 1981 and is set mainly in Kensington Palace, the official residency of Princess Margaret and her husband Antony Armstrong Jones (Lord Snowdon)  Running Time:  75mins

RECORDED MUSIC/SOUND FX

Walk-in music could be some 1970 pop hits.

Two TV programmes (audio only) One is fictitious and can be recorded by a documentary type voice. The other is from the Wedding of Charles and Diana and can be recorded in a BBC outside broadcast type voice.

There is also an off-stage male butler type voice (one line) on P15.    And a car horn on page 42
